From royal courts and palaces to the humblest village looms, one design reigns supreme—the peacock with colors too brilliant for words, feathers too exquisite to replicate easily, its image commands awe. Çınar Rugs presents a fresh interpretation with MYTHOS, one of the rarest carpet designs.

IMMORTALITY AND MAJESTY SYMBOL

Peacocks first impressed civilizations thousands of years ago. Indian cultures realize it as a protector, tied highly to gods like Krishna and Kartikeya. Persians considered it a symbol promising paradise. Ottoman rulers admired its majesty and implemented it into imperial motifs, meaning wealth and nobility.

Europe, too, found fascination in its beauty. Venetian traders sought out peacock-designed Indian textiles and shipped precious cargoes to eager aristocratic buyers. In Florence, the bird’s imagery appeared on wall hangings in Medici residences and became associated with brimming yet prestigious taste. Jean-Philippe Worth decorated the bird’s feathers on a gown for Lady Curzon in 1903 and forever united Eastern symbolism with Western fashion sensibilities.

The peacock continually stays alive in history’s pages. It moves frequently forward, recreated over and over, revitalized by artists who perceive its intricate nature.

MYTHOS

MYTHOS relies on historic foundations. Designers re-examined global interpretations and searched for common threads linking Indian, Persian, Ottoman, and European forms. The team formed dynamic yet respectful designs and preserved cultural authenticity.

MYTHOS features classic boteh motifs—the iconic curved shape acquired from the bird’s tail feathers. Set against a warm burgundy base, the motifs grow freely. Saffron, indigo, and emerald threads connect wisely to create an impressive look. Borders maintain structure and offer geometric harmony indicative of Central Asian designs. The entire composition communicates thoughtful creativity rather than simple detailing.

SILK SPEAKS

Çınar Rugs uses kimono silk, known extensively for its higher texture, strength, and sparkle. Raw silk fibers sourced internationally undergo careful transformation processes. Turkish artisans dye each thread by hand, which yields stable colors and resists fading. Skilled weavers craft MYTHOS on traditional wooden looms and employ techniques mastered throughout eras. Thousands of knots accurately shape patterns as the soft silk piles easily record and reflect ambient light.

THE PEACOCK’S RESONANCE

The continued popularity of the motif is attributable, in large part, to its historical prominence. Its beauty inspired numerous textile masterpieces: Phulkari shawls from Punjab, Paithani sarees from Maharashtra, and Palampore cotton exported to European markets. Only a few patterns share such broad acceptance across multiple cultures.

What explains universal appeal? Humans naturally look for symbols corresponding to beauty, rebirth, and divine connection. Peacocks are a natural representation of these ideas. From rural craftsmen to urban fashion designers, many hands willingly use peacock forms.

ROYAL HUES IN REPETITION

Mytos Sapphire:  A midnight base sets the foundation, and elongated peacock feathers spiral in rhythmic symmetry. Navy blues meet with muted ochres, siennas, and ivory shades. A visual cadence that circles the center. Floral tracery connects each sweeping motif. The composition is locked within a geometric outer frame marked by guarded symmetry. The ornamental border mirrors the regal intent anchored at the core.

Mytos Jewel: A chestnut brown field carries sweeping peacock feather curves in teal, copper, and gold shades. The feather structures lean forward in succession. It forms an anchored movement without abruptness. Petite florals in crimson and citrus hues punctuate the layout. Framed by a dense border in brick and rust tones. Consistent in its orientation and rhythm.

ÇINAR’S TRADITION, MODERN INTERPRETATION

Rather than reusing familiar images, Çınar Rugs offers apprised wisdom. MYTHOS points out continuity between earlier perspectives and present aesthetics. Though traditional in core inspiration, the collection depends on current feel and promises a connection through modern decorative contexts. When it comes to meaningful décor, MYTHOS is the perfect gateway between cultural authenticity and today’s expression for designers, architects, and collectors.

PLACING MYTHOS IN INTERIORS

Grand halls, modern apartments, and formal lounges are all perfectly at home with MYTHOS—natural and ambient light variations cause silken reflections to change, instilling visual motion. Carpets are placed atop hardwood floors or hung vertically as art to reach straight admiration. Whatever you say, MYTHOS is subtly dominant. Being there naturally inspires conversation and prompts observers toward thoughtful meditation.

THE SYMBOL’S LONGEVITY

The peacock remains influential because it uniquely interacts with human imagination. For centuries, we returned willingly to its familiar beauty. With MYTHOS, Çınar Rugs honors its continued power and conveys symbolic connections from antiquity to current interiors. It delivers a sincere invitation: witness an icon of continuing cultural relevance again.
